Commemorative Medals also commonly referred to as Unofficial or Souvenir Medals are purchased and have not been instituted or approved by the monarch for wear. 

They are in some cases introduced into the market by Veterans Associations to commemorate an occasion, for example the New Zealand Army 150th Anniversary (Wellington Army Association). 

Commemorative Medals do have some sentiment with veterans particularly in situations where there may be no official medallic recognition.

By popular request we offer a small selection of Commemorative Medals. Each medal is swing mounted with an appropriate length of ribbon and a single brooch pin for wear.

Commemorative Medals may not be 'worn' on parade as integral part of a campaign or service medal group. This applies irrespective of whether or not you are no longer serving in the military or emergency services. 

Any medal groups that come to Chaplows for remounting of campaign medals for wear on parade and that have Commemorative Medals mounted alongside official campaign and service medals, will not have their Commemorative Medals reinstated and remounted within the medal group.
