Terms & Conditions

This website is subject to the laws of New Zealand including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1987 and their amendments. The Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 is not applicable to sales made to business entities.
Prices: All prices displayed in this website are in New Zealand dollars and are inclusive of 15% GST (Goods and Services Tax). Orders being exported overseas by us directly to a foreign address are exempt from GST, which is not applied. The buyer is responsible for the payment of all taxes or duties if any on all products shipped outside of New Zealand.
Product Images: All product images are digitally reproduced or sourced from available references and are intended as a guide, so that customers can have a visual appreciation of what their ordered product may look like.
Payment: Our preferred method of payment for shopping cart and website purchases is either by credit card (Visa or Mastercard) through the secure Payment Express gateway or by e-payment Direct Transfer (internet banking) from the purchaser’s bank account to Chaplow’s. For purchases made from outside of New Zealand only we offer Paypal, by arrangement. A 6% surcharge applies for use of Paypal and will be added to the final purchase price which is exempt 15% GST. Credit card payments are not accepted for product orders under NZ$25.00 with Direct Transfer being the only offered method of payment.
Shipping: All deliveries within New Zealand are made by reputable carrier usually within 2-3 working days unless advised to the contrary by email. Rural deliveries may take longer depending on the arrangements in your area and are charged an additional fixed cost. Some product due to its size may not be accepted by a carrier for rural delivery. Should this be the case the customer will be advised, so that other arrangements may be made. Courier, handling and packaging charges are additional to the purchase price of the product and are charged at the prevailing rate, which is our cost.
Overseas shipments are subject to an email quote being sent to the customer advising the cost of shipment.  Shipment by international courier will be arranged once we have received payment in full. Packaging including the manufacture of bespoke wooden cases is complimentary on overseas deliveries only and is by arrangement. For product shipments that are not specified in the shopping cart and or weigh in excess of 10kgs or are over 2 metres in length, we will advise a price by email, prior to confirming or shipping your order.
Claims: Product type and quantities are checked with care and confirmed prior to despatch.
All higher value deliveries require the customer to sign for the delivery. We do not accept claims for damage, and these should be referred to the carrier. The customer by way of best practice is required to inspect the product delivery to determine its condition prior to signing for its acceptance. All deliveries made by the carrier are subject to their specific terms and conditions of service under law.
Out of Stock: From time to time in some instances beyond our control there may be a delay shipping product. This may be the result of a stock item unexpectedly selling out. Should this occur we will contact the purchaser by email to advise, when stock is expected to be shipped out to the purchaser. In some circumstances it may be necessary to issue a credit or refund.
Returns: We will accept the return of product and issue a replacement product at no additional charge, if it is deemed to be of faulty manufacture.  We do not accept returns under warranty where the purchaser or their agent has made an unauthorised repair or modification without our express written authority. The cost of return to us is at the cost of the purchaser. Bespoke or custom made products are not returnable.
Privacy: We do not share or sell our database with any other person/s, companies or organisations and do not store credit card details. From time to time we may make special offers or introduce new products, in which case we may issue a newsletter by email. Should you not wish to receive further information, we will remove any person from our database if so requested, by email.
By accepting our Terms of Service, the purchaser acknowledges and agrees to our terms under New Zealand law. We reserve the right to amend the Terms of Service at any time without prior notice.
