We stock a range of 'original' unissued NATO full size and miniature medals.  The full size medals come in their original issue case with a ribbon bar,  with or without clasp depending on how they have been bundled. (The slide ribbon bar type and will require a rack or ribbon frame similiar to US style also used by NZDF). The NATO miniatures are supplied with clasps and are loose with ribbon.

These are 'not' replicas medals and have been manufactured in Belgium. 

They are ideal for situations where an original issue medal that may have been mounted as part of a medal group and have been damaged or lost. May also appeal to collectors. Should you wish to have a brooch attached or have a medal mounted for wear, this incurs an additional charge depending on the medal configuration.    

The NATO Medal is an international military decoration which is awarded to various militaries of the world under the authority of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. In addition, there are corresponding clasps for operations such as ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) , Kosovo, Yugoslavia, NTM-Iraq and clasps designating Article 5, and Non-Article 5 designations. Please note we do not stock the NTM-Iraq version of this medal.

In July 1992 for the first time since its establishment NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation), served in their first Mission. NATO forces were deployed to monitor and enforce the United nations mandated arms embargo against the Former Yugoslavia and also to ensure that sanctions against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) were being maintained.
