Canvas Photo Printing
We use a wide format printer that is capable of printing photos and other images on canvas up to a size of 1600mm (1.6 metres) in width and up to 25metres in length. The canvas we use is a high quality cotton polyester blended product made in Belgium specifically for this purpose.
High quality premium pigmented vibrant (fully solvent inks) that are UV resistant are used. Dye based inks, which are a cheaper alternative are used by some providers who print on vinyl. The main difference with using pigmented inks is that they penetrate the weave of the canvas polyester canvas and are durable and long lasting, whereas dye based inks used on vinyl are float printed on the surface area. Should the surface area get wet or be wiped with a damp cloth the colour will run as the inks are not colour fast.
To enhance the quality of the canvas print and provide both abrasion resistance and UV protection, we overcoat the image with a clear UV protective coating prior to stretching or framing.
Restretching of Canvas
If you have come back from an overseas holiday and have canvas or linen that you purchased overseas that needs putting back on to a canvas stretcher frame please come and see us. We have the equipment and options to meet your every need and will reinstate your canvas, offering a museum or gallery wrap finish depending on the canvas presented.
