About us

Born in 1981, in Upper Hutt (30km north east of Wellington City) as photographers and framers; Chaplow's will tell you a little about the industry and as New Zealand's Premier Picture Framing website will provide you with advice so that you are better informed prior to selecting and visiting a custom picture framer.

Most importantly you will get an idea of our: capabilities, services, product offerings, competitive advantage and the value we can add.

International suppliers from the framing industry who have visited us have commented that ours “is one of the “best operational” setups that they have seen anywhere”. With professional endorsements from industry respected leaders you are in good hands.

Enjoy our selection, with one of the largest ranges of mouldings (frames) to choose from in the Wellington area, with more being added regularly.

If we have not got what you are looking for it we will order it in especially and will work with you to achieve a desired outcome.

We work with interior designers, architects and you to design something that expresses your personality and feelings and help create something unique.

Framing by Design

Original, photographs, papyrus, ethnic artworks, prints, jigsaws, needlework, memorabilia, textiles and family heirlooms we do them all.

With our workshop we have one of the best equipped facilities in the Wellington region, with all the necessary tooling and equipment. From time to time we are invited to do some of the largest framing jobs in the region.

For example constructing stretcher bars for canvas 4metres x 2 metres for a government contract and then stretching the canvas as well. At the other end of the scale, we regularly undertake production runs of corporate presentation certificates and awards, which include us doing the camera ready digital printing. Packaging and couriering to location is charged at our cost.
